Made in collaboration with our dear friend Leslie Johnsen, this item is the result of a 500-year-old Austrian family weaving tradition. Our supplier, a textile mill located at the foot of the Bohemian Forest, is in its sixth generation of family trade, producing unique linen jacquard fabrics.
Sustainably cultivated flax from northern France is spun into durable high-quality yarns in France and Italy, and then loomed in northern Austria. The resulting product is utilitarian and timeless.
These linen cotton jacquard stripe napkins have been developed exclusively for Commune from motifs found in our purveyor’s archive dating from the 1920s and 30s, years corresponding to the influential Bauhaus school.
These 100% natural fiber napkins will last for generations with careful use. We recommend warm versus hot water laundering to avoid shrinkage. Made in Austria.
